Nicola joined the QBAH team as a practicum student through VIU's Animal Care Aide program in 2023. After graduating, she started as a Veterinary Assistant full time. She has always had a passion for animals and helping others and has wanted to work in Veterinary Medicine since she was a child. After a career shift in this direction, she now has her eyes set on becoming a Veterinary Technician in the future. 

 

Nicola spent a lot of her youth traveling the country and settled on Vancouver Island in 2013. She started a small family with her husband, a young son, a lovely mixed breed dog Skylar (pictured) and a small flock of chickens. Nicola also has a passion for art and spends a lot of her spare time working with a multitude of mediums. In the summer you can find her outdoors camping with her family and friends, tending to her vegetable gardens and teaching her son about animal care, the outdoors, and all the beauty Vancouver Island has to offer.
